red blood cells in flow conditions

An interesting question in cell dynamics involves how the shape of a cell changes under flow conditions. Suppose a cell is moving through a blood vein and it will be pressed by the ambient fluid, and as a result, it may change its shape because of such pressure. However, a satisfactory treatment is considerably difficult. The following Letter focuses on this issue and numerical simulations were conducted.
